Sporting CP x Benfica
It was Saturday that the derby took place in the almost complete Pavilhão João Rocha. The Sporting CP team had great support from the fans and received a Benfica team prepared to create difficulties but, in the end, did not do enough to stop Sporting CP’s victory.

Throughout the first half, until the 20th minute, both teams equalized the pace of the game. At half-time, the record was no longer the same, with Sporting CP temporarily closing the score by 15-10.
Back in the game, Benfica reacted but never surpassed their opponent’s score. The big differences were 18-11, later 20-17, finishing 26-21.
Frankis Carol started the scoring and, in turn, was the best scorer on the pitch with 7 goals scored.
It should be noted the performance and consistency in the defenses of both goalkeepers in the match, Cudic from Sporting CP and Ritovski from Benfica.
With this victory, Sporting reinforced its place at the top of the table, sharing 47 points with FC Porto. Benfica, with 40 points, remains stable in third place.
